My tank hood is with 3xt8 fluorescent (1 sera actinic blue 30w , 2 sera daylight brilliant 30w each).
As I understood these are not enough for a reef tank (or I am wrong :/) and I was thinking to upgrade it a little bit:p
I don’t want to make any changes on the hood and I thought to add some LED’s on the hood as additional lighting. Is that a good idea and if yes is there any specs that I should look for?(watt etc)
Another option is to change the t8 florescent with t8’s with LED’s
    Any recommends/suggestions?

If you want LED's, you must get the proper Cree Leds. Cheap ones wont do. You should rather take out the T8's and fit 4-6 T5's and you should be able to keep most corals if you use decent globes, ballasts and reflectors
