Hi Guys,

OK. So by now I have pretty much finalised my sump design. I'm expecting my RO & DI filters to arrive soon ( Got these for next to nothing. The company I work for manufactures these filters, so it was a bonus) . Main display tank stand design is finalised and besides for lights and skimmer , I'm pretty much ready to go.

My next phase is to analyse the type and quantity of lighting required.

Initially I will be looking at some soft corals and anemones. At a later stage, perhaps also some hard corals.
Question : Is there a guideline as to how many lights ( T5 and MH) are appropriate for my tank . My tank is approx 63 gallons ( Dimensions approx 800 x 500 x 600) . Is there a rule of thumb of Watts/gallon that I can use ?

Also, has anybody experimented with LED's as the main light source instead of MH's or T5's ?

If you are wanting to keep an anemone I would strongly suggest Metal Halide lighting or at least 4 white good quality T5's.
