Hi all, I'm looking for advice on lighting cycles between display and sump. So far i've planned to stagger the dt's lights to create dawn, midday and dusk cycles, but how to time the sump lights is a bit of a mystery. Is there benefit in having the sump lights on a reverse cycle for respiration, does chaeto like having a time out or should i rather just keep the sump's lights on permanently ?

If you have a p.H problem you can put the sump lights on a reverse cycle. How is your light cycle working, do your dawn lights come on the go off once the midday lights come on and come on again for sunset or do the lights come on and stay on to increase the illumination intensity and slowly turn off?

The cycle's looking like this at the moment, 6am i switch on one 10k and one actinic t5, 8am add another 10k and actinic t5, 10am to 4pm I add 2 x 250w halide's, 6pm I switch off a 10k and actinic t5 and finally at 8pm i put the moonlights on with everything else off. Sump lights stay on always.

Thats seems like a long cycle, so lights are on the tank for 14 hours a day...
