    Hi guys

Would 1 blue T8, 1 white T8, 2 blue T5's and 2 white T5's be sufficient light to keep soft corals happy? Its a 300 litre tank

I have only two white T5's and one blue T5. All fluorescent 39W tubes :(

With those amount of fittings involved could I get stronger tubes?

Increasing fitting capacity would be difficult for me as my tank has a built in light box

Yes I would say you could keep some species of soft corals, mostly try the mushrooms and leathers and zoa's. Firstly to give you a full review we must know how deep the tank is, as this can limit your corals as well. Also try to get hight grade lights like the geisman(spelling:blush:) globes, they are very strong. Also reflectors work great, If I may, if you work on the lights a little like changing the 2 t5's blue, 2 t5's white, 1 blue t8, and 1 white t8. Could give you a massive difference that can let you keep even LPS corals! I would say try 2x 10000K T5's, 2 14000K T5, and 2x marine blue T8's. Thats would give great light penetration and color to the corals. just my 2c

Awesome, thanks for the advice. The tank is not very deep - 450mm.
I only have the T8's currently with fish only, I'm getting the T5's through a friend of a friend at a good price - so not sure what make they are.
Those are the corals I was planning on starting with so hopefully all goes well! :)
