Light for Refugium

    My Refuge light shorted out and blew now everytime i plug it in it trips... need to change that entire fitting. . . what do you all suggest? energy savers again or flourecents or a small LED spot light

    Strip a lamp shade fitting and strap a 60w-100w spot on there... ;)

    Get a LED light from Builders mine works like a charm 6500 k

    I got a 10W LED pendant from Chamberlains. A bit pricey, but it does work.

    So the spare T5 unit I have won't work?????

    It will work fine. Just add lower kelvin bulbs. Most people opt for the cfl as its cheaper than a proper fitting and works just as well.

    The T5 would most likely use more electricity.

    Ya just get a cheap bulkhead fitting and pop a 23w energysaver in there. worked for me.

    i was just going to use a energy saver but i git two odessy units just laying around, guess i will just hae to build a new tank for them:yeahdude:
