I use to take 25 litre x 12 from Big Bay. After that I was unable to lift a bottle of coke.

I can relate to this, filling 8 x 25l drums with 20l buckets and still dragging it down the beach ain't a joke. Who needs a gym contract after that?:p
Thats why I'd rather get water from 2oceans.

@mandarinman, how do you fill the drums? Do you fill using another container or directly into the 25l drums?

I use to push both drums at the same time under water. Believe it or not.

I got 7x 50 litre open top drums, that are just able to load on and off a bukkie, but when there is rock in there, good luck, but if there is sand in it, two of you will cry trying to move it!!!!

It's all about the right technique, the right timing and current. Considering that both drums have a total air volume of 55 litre, it is not easy to push them both at the same time under water. I only weigh 79kg.
I had some fun the other day. The 23 year old bodybuilder was watching me. After the third filling (six drums), he offered to help.
He was struggling to get a single drum under water to fill it. I filled both in less time than he filled one. Also was he pretty much out of breath after carrying two drums through the sand. On top of it, I lifted both drums (full) onto the paved walkway. It's like putting both drums onto a table. He tried, managed it with almost dropping one.
He said, man how old are you? You are very fit. I told him, I could be easily his father.
His girlfriend seems to enjoy the "competition" we had.
He probably wanted to show off. But I tell you, I was showing off big time.
I think that was the last time when I collected out of the sea. After playing mister muscle at the beach, I realised I'm getting to old for that.:(

Just thinking of that youngster makes me smile again.:)

The most interesting part was the stupid questions the people were asking, why I filled the drums with seawater. Many times I was approach by eldery whites. Do you use it to drink it? When I asked them, "where do you come from?", they said, from Rhodesia. They use to drink NSW like kind of a medicine.

Seriously didnt know collecting water at the beach was such a mission before I started.
But must say it becomes a nice workout if done continuously.

If only I could see the look on his face.
Im sure his girlfriend was checking you out after that.:whistling:

I get those questions too. Becomes annoying after the 3rd time someones asks.
"What do you use the water for?"
    "You keep sea fish? Really?"
    And plenty more.:banghead:

I think she was amused about the fact, that an old guy finally dropped his attitude a bit. He didn't feel to comfortable when he went back to his girlfriend. Who knows what he told her before he offered his help.
Never judge the strength of a man by his looks. Muscles doesn't mean power.
There are two different things one can do (besides many others) at the gym.
The one is bodybuilding and the other is powerlifting. A powerlifter is stronger than a bodybuilder.
