Tank is looking awesome Leslie!!!
finally got around to adding 2 x 250w hailides and my vynil backing. still got a few things I'd like to do to the rockwork but that I'll tackle when I'm off over a weekend.
Looking good there Leslie.
and a few more
Looking very nice! I actually like the blue!
Why halide's? Where's the orpheks?
Awesome Les! Truely beautiful tank! Need to see this puppy in real life!
still got them but they getting old now so untill I can replace or add I decided to pull in some help from old faithful
pull in bro..
led / hailide/ T5 mix
Awesome to see the best of all three worlds..
Your corals will be grateful... no longer do they have to figure out which of those small dot things are the sun and why so many of the suns colours are missing.
Looking great Leslie
i was so happy with the leds for so long i forgot how bright a hailide is, i was lucky to pick up brand new arcadia 250w 20k bulbs for R300ea one of the perks of led being so popular is hailides have become so cheap to purchase.. the tank has never been brighter, i have one T5 electronic balast to replace and i will have all 4 T5 tubes running .. then its to get everything coupled to timers etc.. i can see a notable difference in Polyp extention on my sps already and i hope to add a few more after i have pushed my scape further back...
jeez been spending the last 2 days rectifyiyng my pics on my thread and rehosting here on masa! gosh what a PITA!
Wow, only seen this thread now.
Awesome tank, in all aspects, best TV I've seen.
What does their age have to do with it? Have you noticed a change in intensity or spectrum, or why would you want to replace them?
Looks great! How is the extra heat with the MH's added in the cabinet? And have you worked out how much extra electricity it adds to your bill?
it may be a number of factors but ive seen my corals along the bottom battle a bit more, this could be for a number of reasons like shaddowing from corals placed higher up etc but even corals in an area with no shaddowing and the still seem to be a bit more dull and not growing aswell.
Hailide deffinatley has a wider spread and the tank looks so much bigger now that ive implemente lighting from the hailides, i only intend to run them at night when im home so i can enjoy this fuller intensity lighting...
