Bigger is better , i think a minimum of 30 % of the tanks volume and good filter media would be fine.

the biggest you can go if you can make it the same size as the display tank then it will be the best

    If your tank is 63 liters , i whould imagine its a 2 ft size - 610mm x 32 ish.

if you have a stand made of square tubing and the shelf space is + - 50 cm x 30 cm, i whould suggest then a drip of 50 x 30 and about 40 cm high.
Remember the more water your sump holds the better it is for the system, but as a pure filter you can do with less.

If you are realy tight for space the bare minimim of 20l will do.

This is just my opinion though and i would suggest getting allot of opinions before making a desision as im sure you dont want to repeat the sump build if you change your mind later.

    Good luck.

    yes that will be perfect
just look out most skimmers are longer than 30cm and you still need space to remove the skimmer cup

Hi, think about drilling one of the sides, then the tank can go flush or at least closer to the wall, 50mm i think will be best.

Kewl could i by any chance drill a hole on the back right side of the tank because i can hide and plum the pipes ,down the side would work but i would be able to see it, and would 40mm be sufficent because my water leval sits 20mm from the top of the glass so doubble that would be 40mm thanks again for the quick reply
