Hi guys,
I'm in process of upgrading my lights.
At this stage I've 3 T5's (2 white - 1 blue 80W), but these lights are more than a year old.
I want to get me some corals and/or clams which will require more lights.
The tank dim (145 * 45 * 48) (l*w*h)
So here is what i'm looking for:
1. 1 MH 250 W 14 K
2. 3 T5 80 W White (10000K)
3. 2 T5 80 W Blue (20000K)

Thus i will have 8 T5's in total....

But then I've noted that one of the sponsors are selling
LED - Rio Mini Sun - Daylight & Deep Sea Blue.(5 White LED, 5 Blue LED)
My question/s:
1. Can one use these LED lights instead of the T5 or MH - if not what is this used for...?
2. Are anyone using this lights?
3. Is the amount of lights that i've mentioned above sufficient or a bit excessive?

Thanks

No moonlights can't be used in place of T5's. They are used to simulate moonlight. I run my after lights out, allows night time viewing of the tank

8 40w t5's at a depth of 48cm will be sufficient to keep clams, SPS etc. I ran mine on 8 54w t5's. Just get ome decent lights like ATI (Especially the blue plus from ATI).

yip alfie is right, 8 t5's will be fine.
Or you can go for two MH 10000K and 2 actanic t5's
