Hi, I am looking for LED lights for my 1200x450x450 tank. Preferably with dimming as I can control it with my Reef Angel.

My tank will be home to SPS and LPS

    Thanx

    @Yuppie Pets thanks, what do you recommend 2 x 35 or 2 x 70watt?

I have a Kessil A 360 available with the attachment cable for a reef angel controller. You will need to buy another Kessil though for you size tank. 2 Kessil A360's will be amazing on a 1.2m

If you want a LED unit that can be controlled by your Reef Angel you need to ensure it's controllable externally. It's usually indicated as APEX ready. The only units I know of include Kessil, aqua Illumination and and Apollo LED units.

Get a radion they pretty much the best LED on the market at the moment, you will never ever regret it ......not even once! Aqua beauty are average and very simple , if you want to really show off your corals i recon radion is your best bet!!

Two 70 watt units will do it.

    They are R4699 each

Full spectrum units and include the new Osram dual UV chips.

    Hi NO3

I think you need to have a look at the new Aquabeauty units they are full spec, very reliable and give a much more uniform par output than the Radion units and they are more affordable:thumbup:

Already have lots of happy Aquabeauty customers :)

These units are new to the market but they use tried and tested Cree 3 watt LED's has used by other high end manufacturers, they also dont use secondary lenses so you get very good colour mixing.

If you specify a budget then people will now what to recommend. No point in saying get a R10000 radion and you need 2 to get them to cover the 1,2m tank if your budget is only R10000 in total. Budget is your biggest deciding factor.

BTW, if you have say R13k then there is a vertex illumina sr260 unit for sale in the classifieds section. A 1200mm unit which means you can reuse the light later on on a tank of 1,5 x 0,7 if you decide to upgrade.

Sorry, dont agree i had one of their units...long story short...loads of false adevertising...confirmed by CREE when i had sent some pics etc to their tech centre...

My radion far out performs the aquabeauty in every aspect...growth color controlability...etc etc.

Guys, please don't turn this wanted thread into a argument.

You are welcome to start a new thread comparing different LED lights.

Personally everyone has there own preference about a brand, what work and don't work for you but badmouthing a brand is totally wrong. There is a space for every item in this market, its all about what you can afford and what you think will work better for you.

Some people are just trying to enjoy this wonderful hobby with lowest cost involve as not everyone can spend 10k on lights...
