    Hey there guys....:m12:
I've come across this LED unit. Wanting to get feed back on what the Guru's would say about this unit.
Yes it is chinese, but we all know how expensive the well known brands cost.
Interesting to know what feedback we can get.
What could we expect to pay for a unit like this ?

If you maybe post the link so that I, wearing glasses, can read the finer detail at the bottom.

Anyway, I do not like the power cord entering on top. Would look ugly when mounted. Why they did not build it to enter at the side, or with a smaller connector that the standard PC or kettle plug points. Unless their power supplies are also internal. And why have 2 plug points?

RiaanP. Thanks for the response buddy. Lol, yeah the writing is abit small. not sure how to get it bigger... You've just given away your age... lol. Click on the pic. Makes it big enough to read.
I get what you saying and that could be a problem for some.. In my opinion, the power cables could simply be cable tied to one of the 4 small cables that its been mounted from.
As for as light quality goes... Correct Spectrum, wavelengths.. etc sorry, i'm clueless when it comes to lighting... does it look worth buying ?

There is mention of 3 different types of Led's. Cree, Bridgelux & Epistar. Wouldnt you expect a unit to only have 1 brand of led's ? im led to believe that the different colours are different types. is this the norm ?
Is this a negative point that i should consider and be a little weary of these units ?

I think you will find that when ordering, you have to buy a minimum quantity, like 100.

But I do see that they allow different color setups, so you can choose between plants (like in those happy plants hidden away in some green houses) freshwater, or saltwater, plus options to be more blue than others.

And do not laugh at those happy plants hidden in cupboards. If it was not for them, a lot of progress we had in reefkeeping would not have materialized so quickly. They have similar issues, heat, power consumption, amount of light and inadequate ventilation than a reef tank with cabinet and hood. Where do you think the use of MH units came from?

I see that different colours can be custom installed. Seeing that this is for marine aquariums only, would we only require white, blue and royal blue or are a couple red and green LED's needed for good clarity ?
