LED build advice

I have a 55 x 55x 55 cube and would like to build a dimmable LED light.

I have a few questions . Could anyone recommend the number and colour of LED's that would promote a rich colour ?

The unit would be between 5 and 10 cm from the water level , what angle of lens should I be looking for.

at 5cm the unit is too close to the water.

Radion units should be between 22 and 27cm from the water.

My unit is about 8cm from water and no lenses.

Will your DIY unit run with or without fans?

ok, fans that close to the water will not last. Partly the reason why Ecotech advises that you mount Radion units between 22 and 26cm.

Passive units, without fans and properly sealed, they can be closer.
