Hi Charlv, I have 2 leathers and have had similar experiences when the leathers are unstable. Try and stabilise the leather to be standing up, and try and make sure it's base is secure.
Also perhaps and try and use some Pratley putty and stick his base to an existing rock if needed (make sure you are glueing his base rock and not his body) - as this is able to also set underwater. Get a good position in relation to light as well and then I am sure he will be fine.
    Good luck

    Hey charlv

Firstley how long have you had the leather for? What i think you should do is find i place that you think has the correct flow and enough lighting and give the guy some time and see what happens.

Hhhmmm - Charl - I think that your nitrates might just be a wee bit too low for the soft corals. Soft corals prefer a wee bit high nitrate levels (not like SPS corals).... So - perhaps start overfeeding a wee bit to increase your nitrate levels?

Definatly, ive found if you over skim the water the soft corals dont do to well i would try skim during the day and off at night.
this problem also occured when i used rowphoss i was told to add a little flat Coke ( the cooldrink ) near the goniapoura as additional food, i dont know if it might help with your situation.

    Hi Charl

Sorry to hear about your corals

Was the leather upright when you bought it? ( halthy and fully extended)
I dont trust red sea test kits...they give wrong readings.
With what test kit did you measure N02 NO3 and NH3?? wich was with Red Sea?

You are running a scrubber right?
    No skimmer?

How regaularly do you do Wc and with what salt?
Have you done anything different with your system in the last 7 weeks?
What filter system are you running?

Sorry for all the questions, need to get some more info to help you out.;)

hi thanks for the reply lanzo i tested the water with red sea and tropic marine tests kits. I do well more than 10% water changes every 2 weeks. And yes i only run scrubber no skimmer. Brand salt i'm using is red sea coral pro
    Running dsb for filter
And no changes to the system at all since this happend i stop buying ls because need to find the source of the problem :p

    sump size 800L x 450W x 400H
    dsb footprint 450 x 355

My lps corals do great no prob but softies no go. That's why i'm confused any advice. I thought that softies need less att. that must be wrong in my case:(
