Well that's just pathetic, typical of how society doesn't have the balls to stand up and fight like a man anymore, instead they hide behind their desks and try to embarrass and belittle their competition with lawyers. So what if Tunze's ratings on their pumps are slightly out, how the hell do you accurately measure a pump anyway, the fact of the matter is Tunze pumps are damn reliable and damn strong. What about all these chinese copycats and their thumbsucked ratings on their pumps, why not investigate them? Probably because Tunze is an easy target.

".....By contrast, Tunze’s competitors were found to have either understated or accurately reported the flow rates of their propeller pumps...."

Now that I find hard to believe...

Well if anyone lies then they should be investigated. How would you feel if you go to a steak house and order a 500g Tbone then they give you a 250g steak and tell you its the best quality. False advertising is false advertising. If eco tech, sicce, seio etc lie about their pumps its the same story. With sun sun and other cheapies no one really cares. The investigation should cover Tunze and the study. If the tunze pumps are found to deliver as advertised then Tunze should be laying a claim.

understating is seen as better for some reason, i asked our CPA legal dudes here and they say if it does 1000L and u claim 800L and its does better then its seen as beneficial, but say it does 1200L and it does 1000L then you better have atleast one independant test where it did even if all of yours didnt

this world wide jump on the CPA bandwagon is due to fong kong specials etc.
especially here in SA where our consumer market is price driven completely

and for all of you that buy pirate dvd's fall part of this :)

sort out if Tunze are victims or culprits.. This whole thing put a dent in their rep. It is very possible that the whole study was just a plot against Tunze

Sort what out? There's nothing to sort out. Tunze pumps do what they do and Vortech pumps do what they do, why does Vortech have to resort to lawsuits? I'm sorry but I've just lost all respect for EcoTech Marine and on principle I will not buy any of their products, this investigation nonsense is just downright ridiculous.

Tunze must just show the video of how their flow compares to "competitors" pump. They say a picture is worth a thosand words..... so how many words is a video?

Did eco tech issue the law suit? In USA things are different, but it should be the same in terms of the consumer protection act

Tunze is a easy target but lets face it if you buy say a 10,000 liter per hour pump for the price tunze charge you would expect to get a 10,000 lph pump not say a 6000 lph.
Also if testing flow on pumps was so hard why did vortech and hydors pumps have the correct flow specified.

Its a shame that this has happened to Tunze but the borttom line is misadvertising is illegal.

Tunze should rather just pay some other company to defend them. Tunze seem pretty useless at it. At least just say the study was a lie lol

Who else could it be? Who started this whole "my pump is better than yours" childish game? Who could possibly benefit more from this than EcoTech? If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but I seriously doubt some Harry from Pennsylvania has suddenly decided to start a lawsuit.

What about hydors pumps. They are not made by eco tech or an associate company are they? Well companies can be investigated by the relevant authorities eg tiger brands amongst others were investigated by the competition commission for price fixing.

If eco tech are responsible for the law suit, then thats kak and dirty... but lets see what the findings are. Tunze are innocent until found guilty in a court of law :p
