Latin Pronounciations

I agree with Kevin. Most people do not say it exactly as it should be said but even if you say it the way you read it we should all know what animal is been discussed, this is not always the case with common names. Of course it would be great if we all knew the correct pronunciations as well. (I certainly don’t)

It's not so much the pronounciations, but more attempting to say them when seeing those words in a book.
Some are fairly easy, others are just damn intimidating :)

I think an understanding of the pronounciations helps in breaking the word down into something that at least sounds like a word.

I also watched the documentary Equator...very interesting, especially the part about the coral mass spawning and how the SPS interbreed to form new colouration combonations! And they pronounce it acrop - ora.

Guys as mentioned before the book that has the info is called:

Oceanographic Series: Corals - A quick reference guide by Julian Sprung.

Acro is a-CROP-ora
Elegance is kuh-TAH-luh-FILL-ee-uh
Bubble is PLEH-ro-JAI-ruh
Froggie is yu-FILL-ee-uh
Open brain is TRAY-kee-FILL-ee-uh

There's 220+ pages in the book

especially the part about the coral mass spawning and how the SPS interbreed to form new colouration combonations!
that really amazed me!
