    Hi there everyone :)

I have a massive favour to ask and I hope that someone can help me out.

I'm a final year art student in Cape Town (I reside in the Citybowl), and I am looking for a large fish tank to film an art piece in.

All I need it for is to put water in it and to be inside of it. I can return it washed and clean to the owner afterwards.

I will even send a link to the final piece so that everyone can watch it if they'd like and so I can mention the owner/sponsor of the tank for my exhibition in the credits.

I'm desperate! Any help you have is so greatly appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey, what is your definition of a big fish tank? Not sure who has a 2m glass box just laying around.

    Size of fish tank

    Hi everyone.

Thank you for responding to my thread.

I am 1.75 m tall, ideally I would like to be able to at least:

    1) Kneel in a fish tank and be able to have my head submerged,
    2) Or, be able to stand in it
    3) Or lay down in it, in which case the length of the tank would just have to be 2m.

Is anyone able to help me?

First, I think you underestimate the weight of the tank. Even empty.

Would be a lot easier if you rather do your project where the tank is at the moment. The tank size you are after will need about 6, maybe more guys carrying it back and forth. It is not an easy simple task.

Can you can rather do your project at the tank location?

Anyway, first to options will most likely be out.

Not a lot of 1m plus deep tanks just laying around empty.

Here you might be in luck.

    Hi Riaan

The option where I am lying down for the 2m tank is a more viable option.

Would anyone be able to help me out on this one? I can pay for the hire. I'm a student, so it won't be much. But if anyone has a spare tank they are not using, I would be really grateful if I could borrow it for the filming.

    Hi Riaan

I can do the filming at the location of the tank.

    Where is it located?

Try Liaquat from Aquality, he has a few hundred, think there is an empty 2m+ at his warehouse.
There was a nice big cube at Wayne's shop in that business park behind Yzerplaat, northgate island i think the area is called...
