more importantly, what is the impact on your tank of killing several of these guys at a time? @RiaanP @belindamotion?

PiaanP will be able to answer that...I remember him mention that some of these are a form of Carbon dosing and shouldn't exceed a certain amount per day.. 1ml per "x" amount per day/tank size..:p That's one of the reasons I have switched to Kalkwasse...:p

apart from the method used, I'm more keen to know once they start dying off, do the not pollute the water with their toxins?

Thanks for the replies I have tried vinegar before some most just closed and came back the reason is these stuff killed one of my ricordea mushrooms and also started growing next to my trumpet coral and one piece even started dying. So they are really a bad thing to have in a tank.Ill try kalkwasser or buy some aptasia x. Thank you

Vinegar must be squirted directly into the mouth. I have done this and works.

Vinegar is sugar based, just like vodka. Both are a method to dose carbon. And if you read up on carbon dosing then the general limit is 1ml per 100L total system volume per day.

Use an insulin injection. It take only 1ml anyway and that needle is so thin, the anemone hardly reacts as you enter them. I like to stick the needle in it as far as possible, around the foot area, and inject slowly. So that the vinegar can have time to react and dissolve the body. If I can get to the foot from the side, I inject it all around, as close as possible to the base. It turns whitish and slimy.

I've used lemon juice and is sorted out my majano and a syringe. Thing is to to do it in stages to limit the die-off.

as a last resort, take out the rock and cook the buggers with a lighter or blowtorch
