    Hey people :)

im looking at something that is cost effective and safe to hold LARGE amounts of LR.

i went to game and saw these kiddies pools for cheap cheap under 200bucks!

would these be okay to house some liverock? it didnt give how many litres it hold, but tunes it 300cm wide.. which is pretty huge.

any other ideas will help greatly!

The single coloured kiddies pools, with the wire mesh re-inforcement around the outside of the pool, is reef safe, and works very well - i used one myself for nearly one year after my tank burst some years ago. From what I've heard and read on the 'net, the brightly coloured plastic gives off some toxins, which could be harmful to your inhabitants.

Your biggest problem will be to protect the plastic from being punctured by the live rock - I placed a layer of egg crate on the floor of the pool, and it worked very well. You could also place a layer of sand on the bottom, if you have difficulty in getting egg crate.

wash it out with a strong white vinigar mix first to get rid of any residue there may be in the tank
