Kent Marine phosphate sponge

    Hey Guys,

    anyone used this? any good? reef safe? I'm thinking of running this and Kent MArine Carbon in a little canister filter I have?

    Hi Jaybeepee i have used it in a canister filter with no ill effects but also with no results unfortunately.

    I've used Phosphate sponges in the past, and it worked for me, but you have to clean it out regularly. Specially when using a canister filter.

    I've had no problems with it. You can re-use it but it becomes less and less effective the more you regenerate it

    hmmm, very interesting Sweetnsour!!!! Can you recommend anything else? My scrubber is working overtime now that I have started feeding excessive amounts of mysis for my CBB. So I wanted to supplement with somethign as I have noticed my p04s climbing slowly.

    Currently sitting at about .2 ;(

    Hey Jaybeepee let me not be the one to discourage you man, it just didnt work for me , i have tried so many phos removers and the best by a long shot is the expensive stuff rowaphos.

    yeah, thanks Sweet... the problem with Rowa is that its so fine (too fone for the holes in my canister cartridges) and Im not sure how effective it would be in my wifes stocking ;)

    I may give robins liquid phosphate remover a bash!

    seachem phos remover works great as well. also brightwells stuff
