Which would be the better unit to go for. I am starting to struggle with keeping my Calcium levels at the 400 mark. If I leave out one night of dosing, it drops quickly.

I do not have a SPS dominated tank. I have 3 medium size sticks and two baby frags. I have a couple of monti's that are growing relatively quickly. The other big consumer of Calcium is coralline. Majority of my corals are softies. Lastly I have two LPS.

If you able to give me a couple of pro's and con's that would be great.

Thanks

CaRx.

Pros:
I said so.

Cons:
Will cost at least 5k and then you still have to fiddle.

id say both.
CArx drops the ph
kalk brings it up.kind of balance each other out.
i find my carx a pita, because i can never get the flow just right.

I agree with Gaz, calcium during the day and kalkwasser in your top up system over night, this tends to balance out the ph and alk very well.

Personally, i run both.Carx and kalkstirrer to keep up with Ca and alk demand.
add on a Carx and should you not wish to add a kalkstirrer, mix up kalk and connect to your auto top up

Is it an aqua medic by any chance?

The reefers that are using multiple methods, what would be the reason for running say a Kalkstirrer and then still manual dosing ?

What a effect would Ca levels of 370 be on a system ?

I have been looking at a couple of CaRx. I notice they have a volume rating. Why would this be, is it like a skimmer that runs 24/7.

If I had a smaller demand of Ca would I be able to get away with a smaller reactor.

Other than a CO2 bottle what else is needed to get the Rx up and running ?

CO2 bottle
ph probe
ph controller
solinoid valve(sp?)
bubble counter
the calcium reactor its self
media

the smaller the unit, the less media it can hold. so less calcium can be put into the system.im no guru on this.
currently have mine disconnected and manualy dosing Calcium and have my kalk reactor going.
once you know what you doing, its easy but im still not sure on exactly what to do.

You guys are scaring me, I reckon the Kalk Stirrer maybe the way to go.
