juvi season

    :thumbup:Looks like the juvi season is starting here In durban.was at brighton this mornin puddle hopping.saw some raccoon butterflies,brown wrasse(couldn't get an I'd on them).plenty of convict tangs.and the yellow legged hermits was by the millions!:yeahdude:

    Those species are always here. Did you see tiny ones or last seasons leftovers? The plain brown wrasse are Stethojulis interruptus. The brown ones with the white stripe are Coris caudimacula.

    They were all tiny ones.and those wrasse was the ones with the white stripe.was nice to see some fish around.still scared to go diving though.maybe the when you start going I'll join you if you don't mind

    I was also puddle hoping yesterday and saw some very small juvenile convicts, about the size of a R2 coin, still semi translucent, along with the usual Acanthurus spp., wrasse (Thalasoma lunar and some others), some lionfish (P. miles) and that red bar goldie I got. Not many butterflies apart from a biggish raccoon...

    Also got this guy a few weeks ago...

    Cool. Bodianus bilunalatus. Nice as a juvenile but gets enormous and evil.

    Hi guys sorry to grap your thread here, just a quick question what can expect to find in the rock pools in ballito? I have found some nice rainbow zoa's, what the rules am I aloud to chizel that little piece of rock out under the zoas or must I scrape them of. Thanks
