I got a jumping jean angel (Centropyge acanthops) for my lps and asked if it was compatible with other fish and reef safe, and was told yes, but later when I got home and started doing some research I see that the general rule is angels are not really reef safe. He's only been in for 1 day so I'll give him a chance but what can I do to minimus the chance he eats my polps?

Also will he go after my lps, brains and clam?

Mine has never even nipped a coral. But I got him/her when it was tiny and have always kept it well fed....I think that can make a big difference.

Doesnt nip my corals, but got a really nasty attitude towards tank mate that are similar size....

I think it also depends on the fish. I had a choice either to remove the fish or all my LPS.
It was easyer to remove the LPS.

i feed mine flakes in the morning and frozen in the evening, one note brine and the other night mysis. He is one of the first at the food besides the Copperband. He still nips at the LPS.

I think a variety of flakes and different frozen is best.

You get a dwarf angel frozen block type food. Same guys who make mysis, super shrimp etc... Its a very spongy type of food, my flame loves it, but so does all the other fish :p

They are generally reef safe, but as stated above tend to nip at lps corals! also agro towards other fish especially new inmates! but non the less it is a beautiful fish with loads of character!

I've caught loads of these little guys over the years.... Love em to bits!!
One of my bestest fish, only problem every single one has nipped at corals, in every tank that I have put them in including pairs caught (Given some to loads of mates with the same outcome...!!!) Sorry bud:blush:
