i'd increase the size of the dsb as the last chamber is too big for my liking

display looks good, Just be carefull placing rocks against the side panels, do not want scratches...

sump layout is not 100% (my opinion). standard layout being preached is Mechanical, biological then chemical. Thus skimmer compartment, then DSB or refugium or live rock chamber. then return.

Also if you got an ATU, then last chamber can be a lot smaller and you should be able to double up on your DSB size. That is a nice win. Also no reason why you should not increase the water level above the sand. Bonus is that you increase the total volume.

Next item you should re-look at is your skimmer. doubt if that one is ok for your setup size. And it should be in first chamber. The filter wool will just be a lot of extra work eventually. If rest of sump is working fine, you can then remove the wool.

All you actaully need to do is to drain the sump, cut the glass divider panels out, and fir 2 new higher ones. Just ensure that your new skimmer is not drowning. Ans I would do this before your DSB is actually matured. So what I'm saying is that you should re-look at your sump before you add livestock.

    I like the overflow box.

Only other concern is how does your syphon break works. If power goes out. Does the display drain to below the thing on the top left?

Its my return, its face slightly more upwards so I switched off power to check an it drains jus under the inlet an my sump hold perfectly so no floods ;)

I agree with Riaan to have the skimmer before the DSB, cause if it's after the DSB it might remove all the pods that would've ended up in the main tank. Also, one of the members nearly lost all his fish due to a domestic dropping chemicals in his tank - if that is a washing machine, I would move it - it is so easy to spill washing powder or staysoft etc over the side into the sump.

    WHAO slow down dude
Too many new arrivals at the same time. Your bacteria live is not enough to handle all that sh!t.

And too many Blue Yellow Tail Damsels. Each will claim 30cm square at the bottom of the tank. And your tank is not big enough for 4. Maybe you are lucky, but keep an eye on them in the QT. There is only one rock for one to claim.

And as these is your first fish, there is no real reason to put them all directly into your display. Unless you want to add medicine or want to catch one out quickly.

And what is that against the front glass?

Bigger bio load called for a decent skimmer, had my mind on bb3000 but opted for TS2 reeftek instead...
