    Hi All

My name is Juan, and I am addicted!!! :p
I started small, everyone warned me, but I did not listen...so I went and got my TL550....at first it was OK, but now I am progressing to the "big stuff"...and I am excited!!

So, i have been working on a primarily DIY project for the last 2 months....and it is almost at the stage where I can fill it...

    Details:

Display:1.5m x 500 x 550 - the reason for this is, I wanted a tank that I can stand in front and still reach anywhere...did not want to stuggle with step ladderes etc. :)
Sump: 1m x 450 x 450 - It has 5 compartments: Inlet chamber, skimmer chamber, DSB, Return Chamber and a RO chamber.

    Skimmer: Reef Octo OCT-160

I also purchased a SKIMz FMZ-1000 reactor from Leslie, that I will use to run phosphate reducing media (any suggestions?)

    Return pump: Haliea HX-6540 (2800l/hr)

I will start posting picks of the progress to date, ASAP....and would really like comments, crit, suggestions etc....as I want this to be perfect.....:)

So far I would just like to say thanks to the following guys that has played a part in this system.... @saaid @richardmatlock

Also, thanks to *********************....for building the display and sump for me....

Building the stand - I had to learn to weld again, as I have not welded in ages, but it was all worth it in the end.....:)

    And the most recent pic..lastnight....

I added black plexiglass to the back, moved tank to it's spot in the house, and fitted front frame...in the pic my mate, Ryan, is still holding it up....

On the cards for tonight, start the plumbing and fit side panels (that will be removable for access to sump are) and doors....:)

Let me know what you guys think....thanks

    Nice stand. good design.

Just not so sure about the tops you used. They do not like to get wet and will swell up. Believe me, you will flood the system at some point. Everybody does. I flooded my lounge 3 weeks ago.

Would rather place the tank directly on the polystyrene on the steel. Or use closed sell foam instead of polystyrene. Other than that. It does look nice.

    Looking good so far Juan.

Are those LEDs for moonlight/blue coloration only or are they your main lights?
