    Hi,
I have a Jebao wavemaker that's been running fine for about a year or two in my tank without any issues.

Last night I changed the flow settings again on the pump. (I do this every now and again).
While i was playing with the settings, the pump just stopped... :-(
I've switch it back to a continuous flow, still no luck.

I took the pump out to check if anything is stuck in it - nothing.
When I "kick start" it with a pencil it works - so it still gets power. But as soon as I put it back in the water it stops.
I can't get it to work within the water..

Any ideas on what can cause this?
What can be done? I can see my corals are already "sulks" because of the reduce flow. All my softies are "hanging". :-(

Generally when pumps do this it means it's time for a impeller replacement. 2 years is a good time already.

Try running it without the front cover. If it works then it's probably the grommet being too tight.

Oi... Ok. Now to get some prices for new impeller.

I've checked - but can't see how to take off the front cover. But why would this happen now all the sudden?

It could be the shaft end rubber bushes. Seems it is a easy fix. Maybe ask one of the sponsors if they have replacement parts.

Just turn to the left and off. Jebao wavemakers needs to be cleaned to keep them running at full speed.

    Thanks.
I've played with it a bit more.
But now it looks like more of a cable issue. Every now and again when i try to kick start it - nothing. And you can feel that there is no power...

And when i move the cable a bit - whoala - it works.
But I can't say for sure...

Do anyone else had issues with these pumps before?

Hey there... try cleaning out the pump... remove the impeller and clean inside the shafts as overtime dirt builds up inside

I find the performance on my pumps slowly degrades, they definitely need to be cleaned regularly. Have you got the RW or WP series?

Have you soaked the pump in vinnegar? Perhaps do this for an hour then retry starting it up again.

cool was worth a ask, chat to the dealer you bought it from the importer is very approachable and customer service orientated.

Do you know some one with the same pump? Maybe swop impellers and see what it does.

It was a good guess - There were some calcium residue in the inside of the pump which i cleaned.
The guy that sold the pump to me is not in business anymore. (I think)
