I doubt. That is like trading in your BMW for a Tata.

I have the RW-4 and it does create a very decent wave in the tank, undertow is there I think, although I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that, are you referring to a sort of backward motion across the sandbed? I believe the Vortech's have a very impressive nutrient export mode that works really well. I have experimented with my pump a little bit, I switch it off, add flake food and let it sink to the bottom, then switch the pump on to wave mode and it lifts all of that food off the bottom and brings it up into the water column.

Not high jacking the thread, but I what is the best setting for the Jebao RW8, W1, its a pulse wave, W2 where it varies between 30% to 100% or else mode?

Thank you for that. Yes that is exactly the undertow im referring to. Is there anyone else that would like to share their experiences between these 2 pumps? Please do.

@Saleem007 I really think a RW8 is going to be way to potent for your size tank a RW4 will be better suited.

    Hey there reefers

    Ive got a 700mm x 700mm x 500mm cube and i got myself the RW-8
    Great pump.

Im running it on W1 and the fast and slow setting is set at around 13:00 if i can put it like that.

Its just over the middle between fast and slow.

Fast and slow actualy meens the speed between its pluses if im correct now.

And ive got my RW8 on the left glass pane.

I saw a vid of 2 x RW8 pumps on the back pane of a tank.
On w1 setting and with fast and slow setting right in the middle.

The wave was incrediable and the water surface was giving deferent waves constantly.

All depends on size tank, placement and direction of pump or pumps and settings.

    But either way. Great pump:thumbup:
And man that pump is quite. Verry nice noise level

I noticed that a common problem with the vortechs are a whining noise that would drive me mad. that alone would make me not buy the vortech
