    Hey Guys,

I've decided to put up some info and pics of my system. I initially created a thread on SARK but have decided that MASA is my new home ;)

Trying to keep up on 2 forums is just crazy.

Anyway so here goes. This is my first real tank. I used to keep a small tank back in the day at school (when we still used undergravel filters :D)

I enjoy DIY so most of the stuff, i've done by myself, like building my tank, the stand, tiling the wall, etc.

SO here is the pic of the tank being glued (dimensions - 1.6m x 700mm x 700mm), with side overflow.

Then, a nice big hole in my dining room wall, luckily for me, the dining room shares a wall with the garage (soon to be engine room).

and then finally, my home made stand, made from 40mm angle iron.

The water test (yikes) - was prob at my most anxious. Filled it up over 3 days adding about 30% each day.

The tank up and running with the second-hand livestock I had bought. I bought an entire 5ft setup. Transferred the livestock and used the 5ft 2nd hand tank for the sump

    Very impressive front view.

That is about a 750L tank. So with the glass and rocks extra, you got a lot of trust in your stand. A lot more than me.

    lol Riaan,

Actually, the stand holds a 5ft sump as well :D Will take pics this weekend of the 'engine room'

p.s. I was nervous as well for the first couple of weeks. Remember that the wall serves as 2 of the four legs of the stand. 40mm angle iron is super strong too.

    Hey Ghaydeen,

its on the back right hand side panel. It is a box added onto the outside side panel. You will see the holes drilled in the side panel in the first image. I think there is about 8 or 10 15mm holes that feed into the box which has a 50mm attachement at the bottom.

Your tank looks great  I love the way the Chromis are bigger than the regal tangs.

How long has it been running and what lights have you got over it?
