Thanks man, getting some nice growth on a few of the corals. The milka is encrusting nicely, hammer has a few tiny heads sprouting and Gsp also doing its thing

Added a nice little torch and emerald crab! Also have a 10mm black Perspex sheet on the way to replace the wood under the tank.

Sadly getting rid of the torch as it’s stinging the nearby corals and won’t allow room for them to grow :m26: I’m on the lookout for a small green Bali slimer frag and a small watermelon chalice frag if anyone knows where I can get either of these a please let me know! Cheers

What a shame isn't there any other way so that you can keep the torch maybe abit higher in tank

Too late it’s gone, but managed to get a piece of slimer too so that makes up for it.

I’m in the process of setting up a 60l frag tank... it’s a simple polypropyne container on a wooden base.

Going to be setup very simply, using only a wave maker, heater, marine pure balls and a Kessil.

Will pick up another Kessil a160we while I’m in London in the next few days as well as an eheim heater and wave maker (not sure which brand yet, probably a Jebao rw4).

I’ll fill it up with water and begin the cycle when I’m back in the next 3 weeks, pics will follow then... cheers

Just got home today, feels surreal to be back in cold and wet Cape Town after being on a summer sunny island in the Med 24 hours earlier...

    So good and bad news,

I didn’t manage to pick up a kessil in London as the aquarium store I normally go to there had re-located far out of my way, so will have to come up with another plan for the frag tank lighting.

This morning when I walked in the door the tank was looking a bit dirty but ok. Gave the glass a good clean and did 60% water change and all in order. Sadly one head of my candy had been stung by the frogspawn and has lost a bit of flesh. Think the emerald crab pushed them into each other. Should recover though. Excellent growth on the monti cap yet the Gsp didn’t seem to grow much although looking healthy. Probably due to less feeding while I was away. Also swapped out the wood for black Perspex base which looks great. Will send pics in the am. Cheers

Hey James, nice little tank...any reason you decided to not add any liverock to the system? Would majorly assist with filtration in such a small setup as well as give you different levels to keep corals at so you would not have the issue you did with having to remove items that sting over pieces in the tank. :)

Hi @Kunhardt , I kinda wanted to do something different with this tank, wanted it super simple and wanted to maximise the small volume of water I had to start with as well as avoid the need for any additional wave makers in the tank (live rock decreases the flow significantly in this small tank and creates dead spots). I also have quite a lot of marine pure in the rear chamber

By the way your tanknis stunning!
