Recently added it inline to my sumpfilter underneath the tank (not showing in the pics) Just thought I'd improve it a bit.

Mind you, it brought my nitrates down from plus minus 50 to 5 in A WEEK!!
Keep in mind that I do a 100 litre water change per day.

I seeded this new filter with the media in the "old sump", which is now basicly just a run-through.

    New filter:
    2 x 500 litre drums,
    From left to right
    Algae Scrubber,
    Bioballs,
    Kenyan Liverock,
    Crusher,
    Filtersand,
    Ceramic balls,
Reef Octo 3000 skimmer and 30 Watt UV, before
it enters the sump underneath the tank which consists of 3 tanks in series with a total volume of 400 litres, which I'm planning to add batting, bioballs, dsb etc.
From there back into the tank.
Pump is 4500 litres per hour, allowing a decent flow through the 1400 litre volume filter.

5000 litre drum seawater outside + 5000 litre drum rainwater outside (of course :))

    I'm running NO CARBON
    Salinity is 1027.
    Corals are fed daily

thats alot of filtering, no carbon why?
and 100L every day, is this automated?

Yeah, automated, as well as the coral feeding, the topup etc.
I don't really get the logic behind carbon and it's absorbtion characteristics.
Anyways, it's been working for me without it.
