ok...is your oulet pipe from the evaporator going out and straight down or is the outlet pipe going upwards?
If your pipe is going upward and then down then the water level in the evaporator will rise to the height of the pipe floodong the unit...

the inlet on my evaporator is 20mm and the outlet is 50mm so there is bo pressure on the outlet.

also the evaporator needs to be placed above water level of sump.

I have spoken and appologised to Shaun, Adriaan will be picking the unit up tomorrow.

We are pretty sure we have the reason for this problem, and will sort it out.

As we explained to Shaun it's a brand new product and this is a teething problem we will sort out.

    Sorry again Shaun.

Good to hear about the great after sales service from Idol Marine.

What was actually the problem with this specific unit that caused the "flooding"?

    Just curious :whistling:

I got mines up and running yesterday...My tank temp was 27.8 deg on startup of the Idol Marine Cooler...
This morning before I left for work, the tank is sitting at a nice 25 degrees as I set it to be controlled via profilux...

And DAMN!!! it is silent using the profilux propellor breeze controller...

    My tank is 600ltrs in total and I am running 1 X 250w MH and 4 X 39w T5s...

Now i can sell the chiller...

    Excellent :)
Question: is it one size fits all? I have a 1.5 x 0.8 x 0.7 (1000 litre include sump), how many of these gadgets will i need?

I am not sure but I think/assume Idol Marine can custo make a bigger one for your system...Mines is good for a 1000ltr system and with results I am getting, I think it will do well on your system...

How long have you been using it? and what is the maintenance on it? How does the controller work? i dont have profilux and so on, so can it work on its own with its own controller?
