    Hi

I did a move from a sml tank to a bigger tank today.

My fish have been in new tank for 2 hours now.

I have just noticed a small white spot on the base of my yelllow tangs dorsal fish.

Could this be white spot? If so what do i do now?

    Every shop is closed.

    Any advice?

All the fish would be stressed because of the move to their new tank.Congrats on your new tank first of all.It can be white spot because of the stress.Try not to stress the fish anymore,go buy some crushed garlic at shop.

Take some of your nori and dip it into the oil of the crushed garlic feed this to your fish. The spots should be gone within a few days.If the fish doesn't want to feed at all you would have to quarantine your fish to be treated but this should only be done as a last resort.

Pleasure,do so after feeding them yes....if they don't want to feed switch off the lights and give it a shot tomorrow.

Remember not to switch them off to sudden. You can also add some stability to your tank tomorrow when the shops are open.

If it is that bump on the dorsal, it looks like Lymphocystis

    Hi

How long does white spot take to develop for initial growth?

    Compared to lymph?

So if little guy is covered tomorrow i have some idea.

    Thanks for feedback guys.

White spot is very small, about 400um. Lymphocystis can very easily be confused with white spot in the early stages.

You will not see white spot in a pic like the one you posted.

White spot does not grow. it multiplies. Lymphocystis grows like a cauliflower.

The fish has just lost colour due to stress. Are you sure your water conditions are OK?

Explain what you did in the moving them to the new tank. I am talking about the whole process from setting up the tank and rocks used, filtration in the tank etc.....
