If I wanted to keep corals in a tank for 5 weeks while waiting for my big tank to cycle, do I need a complete filtration system running? So its like a QT for corals. The corals dont add much to a bioload so a bag of purigen in a HOB filter should be enough to absorb any nutrients. They are all corals that dont need special feeding so lights will be enough to keep them alve.

    What do you guys reckon?

Can't really see a problem with that. Even if you have to feed them a little bit, just do weekly water changes as it will remove access nutrients and replace depleted trace elements. If the flow and light is according to the corals needs, they should be more than OK :)

thats right, corals are filters themselves and dont require much at all.
    its fish that are killers.
for those that have been to my place they have seen my experiment with corals in a gold fish bowl and a light.

if u want to feed them put them in a bowl with tank water and add live brine etc then replace with new water, eg like a small water change
