Hi all, I found this little star fish in my tank, its about 15mm in size, has 6 'legs' and is white in colour, very cute little thing.
So didn't think much of it when I first saw it.last night it was hanging around on the front glass.so this morning when the lights came on ithis morning I noticed about 4more of them very close to each other on the front glass, looks exactly the same as the one described above but really tiny.

Are these little star fish dangerous? Or can I just leave them?

Probably a Astrea starfish...but yes, a picture would ID it 100%..especially regarding the amount of "legs"...

Something like this..?..I find them to be harmless and other say that they have seen them eat zoas. They do multiply at a pretty good rate. Mine not so much...

Thanx for replies guys, apologies for not adding a pic, as soon as he shows himself again I'll take a pic and post it to get a garunteed I'd.
Hopefully when I get home this evening he will be on the glass somewhere.

I have a few of these white ones think they are Asterina anomala.
If they are you will probably notice it is missing a leg or two, this is how they multiply.
There are some that are safe and some that aren't, I haven't had any problems with them yet.
    They multiply quickly.
