Got some more LR yesterday and this guy popped up.

Would just like to be sure as the ones I've dealt with so far had way less and smaller tentacles.

eish, yep fanie its aptasia, make a paste using Kalk powder and put if over the area to smother him.. leave it on him for a few days and make sure the flow is directed so that it doesnt remove the paste..

i leave mine for a week and them remove..

get it out now.. before it spreads.. how do the other rocks look?

pretty good, going to do some scaping later on and will check them, and post some pics :p

Injected the bugger with some vinegar in a separate container, so if he dumps spores or pods they wont get into the tank.

Will try the paste next time only saw your reply now, hehe ;-)

Wow, with a bugger that big, I think I'd just through out whatever rock it's on (or break it into pieces and through out the part with the base).

Injected with a 2 syringes of vinegar (10ml) and it shriveled and boiled. I then chizzeled off that part of rock with a hammer and screwdriver, think/hope its fine.

Maybe a 50/50 lemon juice and vinegar combo will be ion the menu for the next guy I find.

I don't like the pratley idea all that much because the rock is VERY porous and I might miss a breathing spot and if its so strong as they claim then I'll be screwing up a ice piece of rock, blocking the holes and all.

    Thanks all

I remove the pratley after a few weeks. I dont force it onto the rock so its easy to remove but firm enough to not allow the aiptasia to spread
