Is this a pistol shrimp???

    Hi All

    Found this little guy in my tank this morning. Have not heard any clicking yet so Im not too sure, I was thinking maybe pistol shrimp?

    Hard to get a good picture its so small and wont stay still.

    Spot on .... Not all pistol shrimp "click" for no reason especially if they small .... There's not enough clout in their claw to produce the snapping noises at that size ... But they still "silent but violent"

    lets just say i have one in my tank for about 2years and has never caused any trouble.

    secondly i have a bigger pistol shrimp in my nano and he is also very timid. i think there is less to worry about if you have a pistol compared to a mantis

    IMO

    :thumbup:I know them as glass shrimp - local - must have hitch hiked on the pieces of LR I sent you!lol . lol.

    I dont think thats a glass shrimp.... as chikaboo's pic, they are see through not like the lil guy above..

    It does a little bit.
    Im pretty sure its a pistol shrimp either randalls or a tiger.

    Very cool, if it's a compatible species you should get a goby for him :thumbup:

    Would love to but problem is I have got an open top and from what I"ve heard these guys are nutorious jumpers.

    If you were closer I would be tempted to take him from you as I would love to have a shrimp and goby pair
