Aw, what a cutie. I don't think it's a mantis shrimp. It looks more like a "lost" coral commensal... but it's too hard to tell from the photo.

Oh, it has one big claw? Then yeah, pistal shrimp would make sense. I thought that was just a reflection/refraction illusion in the picture.

It looks like a pistol shrimp & yes it would go for your cleaner shrimp but they are awesome if you have a watchman shrimp goby with him. The pair make little burrows & as the goby guards the entrance, the pistol shrimp cleans house it's really fascinating to watch them at work.

The snapping sound the claw makes can stun small fish, shrimp or crab & eat virtually anything. I'm use to that sound as I had 1 with a goby & also have some mantis shrimp which really make alot of noise when they catching dinner.

Go to google images and type in red pistol shrimp and see what it brings up. I cannot see from the pic you posted but your eyes have seen it much better.

A pistol shrimp will take out a mantis shrimp, no problem

I have two green corallicarius graminea in my tank and they click like mad but no harm is done to my tank. The clicking just sends my dogs running outside to see where the noise is coming from
