It seems like we’ve been covering ATI’s forthcoming super skimmer the ATI PowerCone for nearly two years. However, the suite of features and the sweet price point of the PowerCone may have been worth the wait. Over two years ago ATI announced the new PowerCone protein skimmer with a high performance heavily modded pump, later additional features were teased including a novel grid-wheel impeller as well as electronic adjustable control.

Last year saw the North American debut of the ATI PowerCone where we first saw all of these bells and whistles. One more orbit of the sun would pass before the ATI super skimmer could start shipping, now with a digital airflow readout for further refining the fractionating process. But the best part is that the PowerCone is now currently (finally) available from Reef Geek. Check out the full demo video after the break and judge for yourself whether there has ever been this much protein skimmer for the price.

im actually very disapointed with my ATI 250i model. it is a good skimmer for its price and the pump/meshwheel implellor make great fine bubbles, but the variable speed intake on the pump to controll air input and the skimmer cup are a real pain. I think the new model with the digital version of reading air intake will be nice, but not realy change the effect of making dirty water.

given a deletec ap 850 (old skimmer now upgraded) vs the ATI 250i id go with an old Deltec any day.

PS ridwaan can i swap mine with your NEXT skimmer purchase? i hear you are in the market for a bubble master:)
