Soda ash is washing soda or sodium carbonate (Na2Co3). Soda lime is 94% calcium hydroxide, 5%Sodium hydroxide and 1% potassium hydroxide. I think it gets mixed with certain chemicals to form laughing gas or an anaesthetic of sorts as it releases carbon monoxide. So they are very different

Very different , as Tony said. Soda Lime is used in rebreathers in order to remove CO2

i am building a CO2 scrubber to clean air intakes into skimmer and ozone unit, it gives almost a 30% increase in efficiency

use the carbon for the filtering of water and air after ozone, the drying of air is before the ozone unit

Reason for asking is that AC also has CO2 scrubbing properties. Not as much as soda lime though...

it does, but it can exhuast quickly, soda lime can go for 2/3 months and changes colour

Dallas, always scheming:tt2:. Why not make a reactor that drips peroxide into the skimmer. It will oxidise the DOC's and break down into harmless water and oxygen, oxygenating the tank and adding extra oxygen to the skimmer. This will probably have to work in conjunction with a OPP controller like ozone

You could supersaturate the tank with oxygen. I'm not sure on the effects on p.H, KH and other parameters. The drip rate into the skimmer would have to be minute possibly with an ORP sensor on the skimmer outlet as it will have a drastic effect on your redox
