I have had a tank running for nine months, which has only one live rock which is
growing plants like, tube worm and some kind of red plants.
and now i am visiting the coast and am wondering is it cool to take stuff out the ocean thanks

Go prepared, and have things that can keep whatever allive until you are back home.

I did it in December. A lot of work though. I did make one mistake. Everyday I drained and replaced 10L water twice a day. What I did forgot, was to check the salinity. It crept up slowly over the week. Did not had RO to do top-ups either. So lesson leaned, next time, only collect stuff max 2 days before returning.

And yes, I got a permit.

Welcome to MASA Ashley, glad you joined. Can you post pics of your setup? What size tank you got?
Like the others said, you get different permits at the post office egg, for fish and then for invertebrates, etc. Last year I payed R75 for the invert one, not sure if that went up.
Taking live rock out is illegal.
Just make sure you have battery operated air pumps and can keep the temp fairly stable for the trip. It will probably change, but try to minimise it by preventing direct wind/sun on the containers. Also drip acclimatise the new creatures decently when you get home - there are some links for you in my signature ;)
