I have a friend that can get these Inverters(Tedelex me thinks), I was just wondering how much you guys would be willing to pay (and please be realistic:p) for either of the 2?

We will need more info, if you don't mind...

    - are these inverters pure sine wave, or modified sine (square) wave appliances - the fact that the general notes state that they are not designed for fluorescent lights make me suspect the latter?

    - are these units actually rated for 100% duty cycle, as the quoted figures suggest? I would be pretty surprised if they are, as most of the cheaper units tend to overheat when loaded even close to their 100% capacity.

    - are they supplied with batteries - if so, please state type and capacity.

    - do they have built-in battery chargers? If so, what rating/capacity?

    Thanks

    Hennie

Thank you Oom Hennie for all the pointers. He did say it was a pure sine with battery and charger. I will put all the questions to him and hopefully get more info tomorrow and post. My apologies for starting post without adequate information.

If they are the units that Ziyaadb has pointed out (only units on their WWW), they are modified sine as suspected by Hennie.

gMAN, I think you are right. It is from Tedelex. They have the Intellipower series and if they are from Tedelex it is definitely modified sine wave.

So will only get more info on Monday, what I would like to know from the experts is will this be sufficient to us as a back up power supply if it is in fact a modified sine wave?

No. It can cause the pumps etc to rattle and over heat.

    Hope this helps,

    - are these units actually rated for 100% duty cycle, as the quoted figures suggest? Yes it is, but at 10% u will get 1 hour out of it. I would be pretty surprised if they are, as most of the cheaper units tend to overheat when loaded even close to their 100% capacity.

    - are they supplied with batteries - if so, please state type and capacity. Yes, Deep Cycle

    - do they have built-in battery chargers? If so, what rating/capacity? Yes, 1200 watts.

    Thanks
