    Howdy,
just introducing myself as a new member.
Got bitten by the marine aquarium idea while browsing for info on plywood suppliers, stumbled onto a site explaining a tank build from ply and from there ended at masa.
Had a look at some pics and life ones at a closeby LFS and this is truly great, reading on all the complexities of tank keeping just made me itch more to try my hand at a marine tank, and all that wonderful creatures in my own house:biggrin:.
I've been reading a lot the last couple of days, have some Q's I cant get an awnser to from old posts but will pop them to the correct forums in days to come, must try to hold back on my excitement and not go and spend money untill I am comfy with my new found knowledge.
One Q for this post, any of you in the Pretoria/Centurion area, or do you know of a good shop in this area?
    Bye.

    hey neo

    welcome to the matrix.

Marines are great fun, challenging and facinating. A number of people have build marine plywood tanks although i am not totally sold on the idea myself.

there are some excelent shops not to far from you, id definatley go to the sponsors pages if i were you and look up Dory Pets, Pet Stop and Idol Marine (in no particular order) All great suppliers of equipment, advice and Live stock.

what sort of tank are you looking at making/getting, any planning on this yet? Share with us and we can do all we can to help you along the way:)

welcome to MASA and happy postings

    Hey Neo

Wellcome to MASA. I am also quite new in the marine game. My tank has been running since march and still trying to find my feet. I also live in centurion and would also be interested in knowing if there are more people here.

    Thx all,
don't know the tank size yet, do know that I'm going to do this slow, very slow as I'm completely new.
Due to space I might have to build the tank myself or have it build for me, for now I'm thinking of a tank going into a corner and a mix between normal and deep to get some volume.
Will do an FO tank first and slowly migrade to a mixed tank after some months.
I'm going to stick to a few fish only with some nice rock/coral life, don't like the appartment-building style of things.

Will start posting somewhere else now cause I have questions on the tank and the immediate environment around the tank and sump, I have IMO a great idea of getting the noise out of my living area but must get past the wife for that.

    Cheers.

Welcome to MASA Neo, hope you enjoy it here with us. Please read through my signature for some great info on setting up your first marine tank.
If you dont want to go too big in the beginning and want a stylish tank, opt for those new nano tanks from Idol Marine - great looking stuff and has everything you need ;)
Enjoy doing some reading and keep us updated :wave2:
