I'd like to know if it's problematic to install a RO unit horizontally.

I think they are designed to be vertical so all the sediment will rest at the bottom.

mine is laying on its side as thats the only was I could fit it.. Only problem I had was that it used to leak a little from the resin chamber, but I just put thread tape and its sorted :) .. I dont know if its wrong or what but mine works. Best is to ask the waterboy :)

I actually asked puritech about that when purchasing my unit. They said I could install it any way I like, so I see no problem with it.

+1:thumbup: This is logics ..... If you look at the inlets/outlets they at the top of the units coz the dirt being heavier WILL fall to the bottom of the chambers housing the filters (Mr GRAVITY said so:tt2:) So taken it will work ....but will become less effective much quicker than those that are standing vertically coz these openings will clog up quicker .... So now you will have units operating half steam:( and you will have to replace filters more often ... Not because they expired but you will think they are finished ....

Mine will sit at 45 degrees, leaning backwards.
    Let's see what Marco says.

+1 with chikaboo, check this video out, gives another reason for doing it vertical.

Well, when it comes tfo replacing the cartridge. Especially the bigger "hang down" chambers. Where is the water that is inside going to? Spilling all over?
OK, admit its only once a year thing, but still.

verticle , horizontal , upside dowm makes no differance to performance;)

by the way...............the dude in the video obviously loves himself as hes making a you tube video......however he also does know how to talk rubbish...........the only reason why the verticle chamber would last longer is because it has twice the volume of resin in it.........

It's not going to be fixed permanently. Will be able to take it out to change cartridges ect.
Just don't have the height under the counter for it to stand upright.
Man i'm so sick of drinking the bathwater coming out of the taps.
