very unlikley that the toby will touch it.

what sort of lights are you running again zero, and is the nennie static in one place for the moment?

I have a buyo with the light mod upgrade. The person i got it from i clearly asked about it, and he said it would be fine.

i placed it on the highest spot from within the tank.

I am totally stressing, he is such a stunning creature !

sorry i'm not familar with the light upgrade for that tank, how many watts do you have over him?

i know what you mean about stressing over a nennie, they are such fantastic things, but i had sleepless nights with mine for ages. watch your powerheads and maybe try nennie proof them too.

best of luck with it, what color BTA is it?

sjoe, that i must find out ... think 75W. the normal buyo have 2 globes that are 50W i think. I added another 3rd one. It made a hell of a big diffrence with things growing in there.

    cool will do.

his tips are shocking green ... dont know the exactly name, will find out for you.

i promise you, it stole my heart when i got it. got it on saterday. sunday it opened up nicely. last night it went all closed up, and started moving around. the person who i got it from said that is typical of them. they will search for the perfect spot, and only settle when they are totally happy!

yes i agree, they will move around untill the find a perfect spot, but you have to be really careful while they do that incase they get sucked into a power head. BTA like to have their foot well protected inside the reef, so they often go under a reef to start with and then etend out from under the rock the foot is attached to, so dont stress if he slips deep into the rock work for a while.

best of luck with it :)

thats the stress of nennie fella, they will have you wondering what they are up to all the time.

and NO do not turn poweheads off, he needs to get used to all the aspects of the tank and flow is a VERY important part of where a nennie likes to stay.....on the topic of flow i used to place a powehead blowing across the front of the nennie (but not AT the nennie....a good 10cm in front of him) and that helped alot in keeping him in the reef.

please keep the flow on for him :)

i have my power heads on the side, on the top of the tank. if you know what a TL550 looks like. i possitioned them to blow like a x ... missing all the live rock in the middle, but the flow onto the side reflects back, that is what making the flow. If the powerhead blows directly onto the live rock, it can be very strong. so far, everything is happy in the last year. wow, i got the tank just over a year now ! :) goodness, how time flies. the best rewarding hobby.

well, last night i had a bad night actually. my girlfriend wants to swap me in, and she says my tank will go with my. but she still loves me. wish she can understand how addictive this is ! :)

one thing i must say about the nennie that i got ... wow, it is like a earth worm ... it can strech the hell out of it ... i assume that is how it moves. I had a look at the texture, and it is very smilar to my start fish ... alot more mussle!

As Crispin has stated watch those power heads, these things can inflate themselves and float around the tank and end up in the intake of a power head.

Eish, sorry to hear, please give a pic of the nenny from the top down, it may not be dead, they do survive pretty traumatic situations.

Don't toss the anemone yet! Get us a better picture. They have been known to survive going through a powerhead.

I am trying to take a pic, but i can see from the top, it ripped through the middle. i think it needs something from ABOVE to survive. for now, i placed the toby at the back of my TL550. Will swap it asap, or if someone wants to make an offer, who doesnt have a reef safe tank ... they can have it.
