    Hi All,
Been doing alot of reading on mushrooms. ( as I am cycling a tank at the moment for my mushroom tank) Have a few questions as I am a bit confused at the moment
    1) Do you need to feed them ?
    2) What if the mushroom is not on a rock, will it be fine in sand ? ( one of hubby's went a.w.o.l. from the rock and it looks fine in the sand)
    3) How do they re produce? ( Hubby has a few in his tank, with smaller one's on the side of the large ones, is that the babies?)
    4) How do you frag them? Do you need to frag them to get more?
    5) How many on a rock, saw pictures on the net, over populating a rock, do you need LR without anything on them in the tank to keep the tank healthy?
    6) Will the tank be fine without fish

Thanx for all the help, think MASA is doing a great job!

    In answer;-
1, no, no need to feed.

2, use an elastic band to attach them to a rock, after a day or so, they will be attached.

3, depending on the type of 'shroom, some split, some will lay one and move a bit (not the most biological explanation but you get the jist.):)

4, no need to frag, you'll get loads naturally.

5, they will move/drop off the rock, should they feel there is overcrowding.

6., yep, the 'shrooms and tank will survive without fish for the time being.

    Hi

Thank you for the advice, worried about what you said...
" yep, the 'shrooms and tank will survive without fish for the time being"

I was not planning on getting fish, only cleaning crew, I know it sounds funny, but I love the mushies, and I thought it will be easier to keep the tank clean, without any fish? Please advice.

You may need to add phyto occasionally, and i mean once a week at most.

No you don't need to keep fish in the tank. Situation would be similar to keeping a
'frag' tank. I would dose phytoplankton though.
