    ey guys.

I need to know if anyone has a Raccoon Butterflyfish in their tanks. I have seen these fish when I go snorkelling, and I want to know if I can place it in my Tank.

I believe they are hard to feed? Is this true?

Here is a pic of what they look like.

I would not put him in a SPS tank, I have one in my softy tank so far he has not been a problem. The very small ones don't last long, but the slightly bigger one I have is doing fine and eating the food I give all my fish.

    What do they eat Shaun?

Do you have a picture of your tank to give me an idea of what I need to have.

I'm still setting up my tank, so I need to know everything about Softy tanks.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Unfortunately I have one thread for both my tanks but I did post a pic of him.
    Shaun's Tank - Page 3 - Medium Tanks

He is in my bigger non SPS tank.

He eats pods and grated frozen shrimp and Hikari fish food. Does not eat the Omega One.

This is still one of my favourite butterflies. The fish that got me into the marine hobby +-15 years back. Also try frozen marine mix, works well with them.

Well, I have placed the Racoon Butterflyfish in my tank, and he has chomped on almost all the corals I had in there. He is very destructive, and nibbles on my Nennie as well.

Should I get rid of him, or is there any corals that I can put in the tank with him?

I really like him, but if I keep him, I think my corals are doomed.

    Some help, please.
