Warr, that price was for 4ft aquamedic.

We do stock reeftec and we have 80w in stock. R188.00 for 10000k, 12000k, and coral blue. R208.00 for Actinic.:)

Tony, I'm sure we can split it up a bit.

And in your reefer's opinion how do the AM stand up to the Geisemanns

    Dogstar, further to your comment.:)

I can't comment for all the sponsors, but essentially we fall into two main categories.

One is an internet based company. These companies have little to compete against each other than on price, and possibly availability and how quickly they can claim to get the item to the client.

They tend to have lower overheads and must discount as much as they can to compete they have found a fine spot in our web-based lifestyle. I would imagine it would be very much in there interest to show off their low prices.;)

The second one is a shop based concern where the client can talk to a hopefully knowledgeable person to get advice, veiw and handle the goods, see the livestock, and feed it if they like.

Idol Marine is one of the later, started by two highly regarded (if I say so myself):p and experienced reefers, who are both passionate hobbiests.

When I put out a "teezer", concerning stock that has been mostly unavailable in Gauteng for the past year or so, it's to get people into the shop to talk to us, and see the service we offer which I asure you will set us apart from many others in this industry.

I have put some prices on some of the more wanted items, but posting a whole stock-list is tedious for us and probably most of you guys.

Our prices are very competitive, and we want you, Dogstar:biggrin: and as many other reefers, to come and visit us for a chat about our hobbie.

It will be a fun outing, and difficult to leave without at least something of our great livestock.:)

    Cheers

    Rob.

    Warren, difficult to answer.

A while ago Aquamedic had some production probs but that was quickly fixed.

I think that Giesseman certainly has a good name, but bang for buck in SA, I would definately go with AM.

I actually want to do an experiment with my par reader, to get some idea on relative brightness of a couple of globes so that we can offer our clients more info so they can make more informed choices.:)

Is the aragonite fine enough for a DSB. I'm looking for about 20kg only

Nemos. Our aragonite is aragonite. All aragonite is by definition Calcium carbonate.

Calcium Carbonate has two naturally occuring forms, one is aragonite, which is fairly soft and disolves readily at fairly high pH. The other is Calcite which has a much harder crystal formation and looks more like salt crystals, slightly shiny.

    Both are calcium carbonate.

I'm not sure what you are asking?;)

I've never heard of Eduard Merlke, this is simply the arragonite we get from Aqua Medic.

Where is Joe's mountain out of interest?

Tony, the grains are about 1 mm across, I would be happy using it for a DSB, but you certainly can get finer.
