Identification on unknown growth

    Hi,

    The three pics below are of this unknown plant growth in my tank.
    I have about 15 sea sponges growing and all of a sudden this.
    There are some starting to grow on various places on my LR.
    Please help.

    Hey bud,

    Its really difficult to tell from the pics. But to be honest looks like a tiiiiny little pest nennie like aptasia or majano to me, more than plant matter... In the middle pic particularly, that sort of radial symmetry is indicative of a nennie of sorts...

    @Dane ..But doesn't the last picture look like it's "spread" over the surface..? would that also be how aptasia grows..? Never had Aptasia so I really don't know the "signs"..

    mmm looks like a spongy type growth to me but it is difficult to say without a clear pic... monitor and see if it moves and if it pwehaps gains colour...

    Ive looked at images of aptasia or majano and it looks like none of them...

    Its white stringy sponge, I have some as well, doesnt grow crazy, just stays in one spot but more strings grow and intangle themselves. its good to have...

    One on of my larger pieces of LR it has spread ALLOT!!!

    :whistling: Better control it before it gets all over. It'll cover and grow between coral etc. but its pretty easy to just peal off the rock.
