hi guy's, could anyone pls tell me what this is and what i need to do to take good care of it, when i got it some time back i thought it was a monty, i think my first assumtion was wrong, as it seems to have small brown polyps on it. i am a bit worried about the "bleached" parts, is something eating it, or is it dying in those parts? pls help[IMG]

Looks alot like a Monti to me. Remember, some Monti's do have highly visible polyps.

I was also thinking of a monti, since what looks like pollyps at the back. looks a bit "wavy" though?

just a tip: your camera focused on right/back side of the pic. next time try focus the shot on what you want.

i think thats mainly misleading due to the macro lense, growth like that in 4 days (since first post) cant be a monti. But it sure looks like one and a beautiful one too.

Dv8 how long have u had it and where did you get it, normally the people who sell these things know what they are :)

No problem bud. I suggest doing a FW or Tropic Marine pro coral cure dip as you will never know if there are any nudi's munching it causing the dead spots (white patches).

You dont need to dose any supplements except Ca, Mg and Alk. For food, rely on the fish poo :) You can how ever add some Amino Acids to feed the coral/s and assist in growth. :)

    Very nice encrusting monti.

One thing on the coral dipping mekaeel has suggested- when you do the dipping, never use more than the recommended dose (safer to underdose IMO). You will be surprised to see what comes off.
