    It looks like a type of sponge, but its really difficult to id that above water...

    Yes, preferably. Softies tend to deflate/ deform when taken out of water

    Its the same. Its very ferm. The one on the right looks like eggs and i have a marble shrimp. That is always by it under a rock

    Left is a sponge, right is snail eggs (likely from a predatory snail).

    Well it's unlikely that any larva will survive. Does mean you could have a nasty snail or two in the tank.
