Today I was taking the collection cup off my skimmer to clean it but dropped it in the sump by mistake and the water went all cloudy again :( (because of the aragonite) ..
So then I walked past the tank and saw something on a rock which I didnt see this morning. I don't think is Aiptasia as it has short polyps. Did my best with the pics. Had to use my cell phone camera as it focused and the digi cam didnt want to.. lol.. any way

Its the size of a 10c coin. ITs brown and the polyps have a slight green colour

    I zoomed in here

It looked like it was going to come off the rock but the flow isnt very strong where it is. Could see the foot lifting off but then it settled down

Water is on the cloudy side because I dropped the collection cup in the water :( .. Im thinking that this could be a Ricordea or some other softie. Please ID it for me :) ... Oh and can you post a pic of this when its big. Hope its something good

If it is that its called a majano anemone. One of the pest anemones. Spreads fast and stings other corals.
See if you can get a better pic of yours.

Looks like Majano. I've had them before, and they've never spread for me, but I'd go with what the other guys say and axe it.

you can manually remove it. You said it looks like its coming off the rock already.
Otherwise you can kill it the same way you would aptasia (id recommend Aptasia X).
Majano are rather attractive, pity they can spread so fast and sting other corals.
Check that you only have one.

I've tried a few methods. My favourite is to turn the pumps off and then use a syphon or a large syringe to cook the anemone and surrounds with boiling water.

Nothing says "I hate you" like denaturing your proteins.

    haha

I only saw one. Damn that thing really came out of nowhere! I was gonna name it "chubby" lol.. Gonna pull it off and burn it :whistling: .. At the moment it moved just behind the rock and looks like its sleeping.. Well, atleast it will die in its sleep lol..
Thanks guys, I dont want to risk it spreading so I rather just kill it now
